Scratch: Name

Scenes Reflection

Stage in sprites are very similar they can be changed multiple times throughout a skit. They can also be drawn or uploaded. It is really easy to create your own sprite as it is backdrops. The possibilities are endless when using scratch. While reviewing other project I saw that no two projects were the exact same in terms of sprites and backgrounds. Many people changed there backgrounds along with sprites as their projects continued. Beside animation projects I might also use scene changes in a spanish, history, or chemistry projects. I would use the backdrops as slides and then change them like a power point.

The broadcast block is in some ways similar to the "make a block". You would use the broad cast block when you want to add a long sequence of blocks multiple time, so you would just name the sequence and then when you have the broadcast block you type in the name of the sequence.

Characters Reflection

"Make a Block" is a very efficient way to create blocks with multiple commands all under one block. "Make a Block" is used when you want a character to follow a long list of commands and also want it to follow other short list of commands but then repeat the long list. You would just put the long list into a make a block so anytime you use the one block that you made your long list of commands would be happening. I loved using "Make a Block" because it makes the scratching process much simpler.

Debug It reflection

Doing this assignment helped me further more understand the setup of scratch and the possibilities it has. I also know that all mistakes that are made can be fixed. I can't wait to apply my knew knowledge of scratch in week two.

10 block challenge reflection

The ten block challenge helped me further more understand the set up scratch. I also was not as overwhelmed with the selections of block because I was only given ten. I really got to understand what those ten block were capable of. With only been given ten blocks I had to really expand on my ideas because I couldn't do much with only ten blocks. What I did't realize was that you can do a lot with only ten blocks and I am excited to get to increase my knowledge with the rest of the blocks in script. Here is the link to my ten block challenge, and it is also embedded below. http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/39277698/

Scratch Reflection: Trying It Out

I was surprised at how easy it was to use this website. The buttons were all self explanatory and it was a very simple layout which made everything less confusing. I liked being lead step by step through the activity with all the options you can sometimes feel overwhelmed, but when there are a list of steps it makes everything easier. I like having more structure when I am given a long task. Sometimes I can get off track when completing a big task so I think it is important to have structure in those cases. I like having more freedom when a project is expecting me to be creative. I fell like in order to be creative you need to have limited rules. I also feel as though I am more creative when I have less structure and more freedom.
